Relationships and Divine Guidance

Today we would like to talk about human relationships and divine guidance.  Does God approve of your choices, decisions, or actions when you are following your heart, even when those choices, decisions, or actions cause emotional pain for another?  Human relationships are very complex, and sorting out who is right and who is wrong is a “slippery slope” which can lead to a lot of heartache and emotional grief.   There may be no solution that satisfies both parties in a relationship where meanings and values are defined differently, and so we look to God for guidance so we can “feel good” about our position.

You have heard it said that “all is fair in love and war” or that “love is a battle field.” These are metaphors that infer there is a great disparity in meanings and values when it comes to human relationships and the definition of “love” as defined by each individual.  Unconditional love is “perfected love” and is something to strive for whereas human love can mean many things to many people.  Herein lies the difficulty and the root cause of human relationship incompatibilities.

God does not legislate human social mores and spirit will never tell you what to do.  You are here to experience life—to find meanings and values in relationships with others in the sandbox of evolutionary life.  Spirit guides us by whispering the values of eternity and meanings of universal truth to the best of our comprehension for where we are in our spiritual development.  Those who have developed little will have a much narrower viewpoint of universe realities, and so it may difficult or even impossible to bridge the gap with some until they have developed their inner knowing enough to hear the whispers of their Indwelling Guide.

Your “job” here, so to speak, is to become perfect as you are called by the Creator. You are here to “find your way”—to make decisions and take actions that are in alignment with this calling.  Each one of you will experience success and failure at your “attempt” to align yourself with the Will of God.  The heart often times finds alignment easier than does the head and that is because the Indwelling God speaks to the heart, but the head interprets the heart and so the same message can come into the heart of two people, yet the conditioning and past experiences of that individual may assign different meanings to the message.

What is best for you is to do that which promotes the growth of the soul.  You cannot always know what is best for others, but you can “find your way” by taking your questions into the silence and listen to the heart and ask that the head be open to new understandings that it may interpret the heart with greater alignment with the Will of God.  Be open to what comes in, my friends, and interpret the heart from the viewpoint of eternity.  See the dialog between the heart and head as an unbiased observer with no emotional stake—identify and purify the intention, then hold it against the Creator’s calling (to be perfect) and weigh the consequences of the projected solution.

If you are expecting to hear who is right and who is wrong, the head is not open—begin again.

Peace to you,

The Circle of Seven
